Organic red perilla seeds, botanical name Perilla frutescens, are also known as red shiso and Japanese basil.
The origin of these seeds dates back to the remote rural areas of China and Japan and has always been widely sought after both for its unique flavor and countless beneficial properties.
Organic Red Perilla microgreens grow to develop a dark red leaf.
Their flavor makes them one of the best-selling items for organic microgreens. In fact, red Perilla boasts a unique flavor in terms of sweetness and freshness, from the first taste it releases an intense taste of mint and basil with a wonderful aftertaste of anise with a slight hint of cinnamon.

How can I grow it?
Producing organic red Perilla microgreens is quick and easy, even at home.
Organic Red Perilla seeds, being very sensitive to temperature changes can grow unevenly so we recommend that you store the seed in the refrigerator for 3-4 days before soaking.
This small step will cause the seeds to activate their germination will allowing you to have a more homogeneous harvest.
Before sowing, we recommend soaking the seeds in cold water for 4-5 hours.
Once collected and dried you can proceed with sowing, preferably in potting soil and store the tray in the dark until the germination process is complete, usually after 5 to 7 days.
Once you have reached this point, place your tray of organic red Perilla sprouts under a light source.
Harvesting organic red Perilla microgreens will take only 12/14 days.
For the more patient who would like to harvest Red Perilla with darker, more developed leaves, keep watering for another 10/12 days and you will be able to fully enjoy the flavor of these wonderful organic leaves.
