Its small leaves are characterised by a shade ranging from green to purple and an unmistakable fresh and delicate aroma, with which you can add a tasty and refined touch to any dish.

Description

Organic Perilla bicolor

Perilla bicolor, botanical name Perilla frutescens, is also known as Shiso or Japanese Basil. Its microgreens develop in just over three weeks; a little patience will be necessary, but the result will surprise you. In fact, its leaves are not only rich in nutrients (especially antioxidants, iron and vitamins A and C), but also have a sophisticated appearance and a delicate, refreshing taste, reminiscent of aniseed and cinnamon.

How can I grow it?

Producing organic Perilla bicolor microgreens is easy, even at home.
Organic Perilla seeds are particularly sensitive to changes in temperature, so they may grow unevenly. Our suggestion is to keep them in the refrigerator for 3/4 days before soaking them, so that they grow as evenly as possible.
After that, you can soak the seeds in cold water for 4/6 hours. Once collected and dried gently, place them in a tray (preferably with soil) and store them in the dark until germination is complete, usually within 5 to 7 days. At this point, you can move your organic Perilla bicolor sprouts into the sun and let them grow by watering them a couple of times a day for another 12/14 days.

How can I eat it?

The organic microgreens of Perilla bicolor are characterised by the sophisticated and colourful appearance of its leaves and their fresh, delicate taste with notes of aniseed and cinnamon. It is therefore used not only as an ingredient in traditional Asian dishes, but also as an edible and delicious decoration to add a touch of elegance to any dish, including desserts.

Organic bicolor Perilla seeds may contain traces of soy, mustard, wheat, gluten and grasses.

Store seeds in a cool, ventilated place, with temperature between 8° and 20° C, away from weather, changes in humidity and sunlight.
