Arugula is a seed called mucilaginous, meaning it develops a mucus membrane around itself when it comes in contact with water. Being native to hot, dry climates, Arugula developed this defense mechanism of mucus formation as a way to ensure constant moisture during germination. It is recommended not to water with too much water in the first few days of growth and not to soak them.
Store seeds in a cool and ventilated place, with temperature between 8° and 20° C, away from weather, humidity changes and sunlight.
