Description

Organic Fava Bean

Organic Fava beans, botanical name Vicia faba, are popular and appreciated worldwide for their flavour and texture. Even in the microgreens version, however, they do not disappoint expectations: they require no special care when growing and have tender leaves, crispy stems and a delicate, slightly earthy aroma reminiscent of hazelnuts.

How can I grow it?

Producing organic Fava microgreens is quick and easy, even at home.
We recommend you to start by soaking the seed for 6/8 hours in cold water. Then, after draining them well, place them in a tray with potting soil (this will encourage the growth of your Fava microgreens) and leave them covered for 4/6 days, sprinkling with water every now and then. In this way, you will allow the seeds to germinate as evenly as possible, avoiding direct sunlight hitting them and promoting proper humidity inside your pot.
After 6/7 days, you can remove the lid and keep the seedling in sunlight, watering it twice a day. For good organic Fava microgreens, we recommend waiting for 12/14 days.

How can I eat it?

Fava’s pulpy and sweet organic microgreens are great when used as a base for super nutritious salads. Otherwise, you can put them inside sandwiches or season and use them as a side dish for meat, fish or egg courses.

Organic Fava beans may contain traces of soy, mustard, wheat, gluten and grasses.

Store seeds in a cool, ventilated place, with temperature between 8° and 20° C, away from weather, changes in humidity and direct sunlight.
